Joe + Jordan | Intimate In-Home Couples Session
Happy first day of summer, friends! It’s the time of year when sandy feet, beach hair, and ice cream everyday is absolutely acceptable. Longer days, gorgeous sunsets, warm weather… all the summer things. Love every part of it! On another note, I’ve had so many awesome sessions in the past month and a half and I’m so eager to share them all with you. Today’s blog post is a super special one for so many reasons!
One of the awesome things that I love about my job is that I get to shoot some amazing clients, many of whom I’ve known for awhile and I’m always so incredibly thankful that they trust me with taking their photos. I’ve known Joe since high school. Following graduation, we both started college at CSUN. And coincidently, Jordan also attended CSUN (basically, because it’s the best darn college out there, but of course I’m super biased!). Before we even started shooting, we spent a bit of time catching up on life, family, all the reminiscing. Man, how time does fly. I mean, Joe and I graduated college 5 years ago, which is so hard to wrap my head around, because it feels like just yesterday.
Reason #2 why this session is so special: Joe and Jordan are getting ready to celebrate their 2 year anniversary, so what better reason to have a shoot anyway?! It’s just as important to document this season – 2 years married, pre-kiddo, you get the idea – as it is to document families. Joe and Jordan are also incredibly talented musicians and have successfully pursued careers in the music industry. In fact, Jordan played her violin so beautifully at our wedding last summer. So to be able to take a few photos in their studio dedicated to their mutual passion was so unique and fun!
This brings me to reason #3 why this session is so special: this was my very first ever in-home couples session! I had been itching for quite awhile to shoot a couple in an intimate, relaxed setting and Joe and Jordan graciously volunteered. So grateful for friends who will allow me to practice on them! We went into the session with the expectation to just have fun with it. And fun it was! I thoroughly enjoyed spending the evening with them catching up! Super special thank you to the both of them for going with it all (because I may or may not have asked them to do some silly things)!
I also had the amazing opportunity to do ANOTHER in-home couples session the following day and it was also amazing. So check back next week, you won’t be disappointed! ALSO, speaking of summer! Friends, I’m having a summer mini special. Info can be found here! I hope you’ll join me in documenting all of your summer traditions and adventures!
