RVA Maternity Photographer | The Baggerly Family
I left this session feeling so incredibly humbled, my friends. It was my last session of the year and I could not have asked for a more incredible couple to work with. This year has been full of amazing families and couples and I couldn’t be more grateful. But this session, it was the icing on the cake. It was equal parts sweet, relaxed, and so much fun.
Kimberly reached out about a maternity session a few months back. She is due with their little boy in February and while they anxiously await his arrival, we started planning a session to document this exciting season. During the planning process, we brainstormed location ideas. RVA is full of beautiful outdoor locations, perfect for maternity sessions. But I also mentioned that they could consider an in-home session too. And when Kimberly and Daniel decided to go that route, I was super excited. In-home sessions have a way of showcasing the intimacy of relationships and also documenting a bit of their family history. It was also a great way to get little Dolly and Hazel included!
Prior to their session, Kimberly let me know that lately they were spending their Saturday mornings together over cinnamon rolls and coffee. And to preserve this little part of their daily life, before their whole world changes a bit, we decided to start their session here. After breakfast, they headed into the living room to read Darth Vader and Friends – the very first book that they bought for their little man. I mean, that’s kind of the coolest book I’ve ever seen!
After they read the book, I asked Kimberly to spend a little time in the nursery. And of course, we were soon joined by the sweet pups. Dolly was a little less shy and more willing to be in the photos.
But let’s talk about the end of their session. You see, it snowed the night before and while it wasn’t the deepest snow, I still wanted to capture its magic with a few photos of mama-to-be. And oh.my.goodness. She is such a stunning mama, you guys. See for yourself! Enjoy!
If you’re a soon-to-be mama, send me a note. I would love to capture this super exciting time, as you head into your new life season. In the meantime…
