Project 52 – Week 2

And we’re back with Project 52, week 2! Just looking at this photo makes me hungry. We’ve had some pretty brisk weather here in Virginia lately. It snowed two weeks ago and, as I write this, snow is falling yet again. I’d be lying if I said we weren’t praying for some warmer weather. And until that warmer weather graces us, we’ll find comfort in warm soups and dinner dishes, like this tortilla soup.

I know. You’re probably thinking this is a bit random. And well, you wouldn’t be wrong. Let me rewind a minute here. At the end of the year, I enrolled in a few photography courses to hone my shooting and editing skills. Food photography happened to be available when I enrolled, so I decided to try it out. I’ve always been interested in flat lays and food photography, so this was bound to be informative and a great learning experience. Fast forward to Project 52, week 2. We had tortilla soup the night before and it was SO good (and SO EASY!). And in celebration of good food and trying something new, I decided to make that my photo last week. I’ve still got a ways to go with my food photography skills, but that’s the point of this project – to practice new things and document our life.
