The Meyer Family
Fall has officially arrive, y’all. Finally. And it seems as though it’s here to stay! Hallelujah! I’ve been ever so patiently waiting for the leaves to finally change color and it seems that they got the memo. And beautiful fall leaves make for stunningly beautiful and fun sessions!
Such is the case with this adorable fall family photo session from a week and a half ago. But can we just pause right here for a sec? I just want to say that I’m so incredibly thankful that this is my job and that I get the opportunity to meet the best families. I love spend time laughing, exploring, and going on little adventures with them. It truly makes me so happy!
The Meyer family was no exception. When Stefanie reached out and chose Pocahontas State Park as their location, I knew it would be gorgeous this time of year and that their littles would have fun wandering the trails. Stefanie also told me that they’d be bringing their pup, Kilo. And if you remember my post on including your fur-babies, you’ll know this made me super happy too! On the day of their session, we welcomed the cooler temps, falling leaves, and deep fall hues that Pocahontas has to offer.
We started by walking along the trail. This gave the boys a chance to explore their surroundings and gave me a chance to photograph their inquisitive personalities. A walk through the forest can bring out the best in any imagination. Little J especially loved to collect sticks and bark during our walk. And the fallen tree made for the best climbing spot.
I also really love to carve out some time for my families stop and laugh, play, and love on each other for just a few moments. The interactions, the smiles, the belly-laughs, all these things are priceless to capture. As we headed into the forest a little deeper, the trees became thicker, but the golden light was streaming through the leaves. And so we stopped to see who was the ticklish.
This whole session had me smiling from ear to ear. And I know their photos will have you smiling too! Enjoy!
Also, if you’re thinking about fall photos (or Christmas card photos, hint, hint!) NOW is the perfect time before the trees lose all of their leaves. Pocahontas State Park was absolutely stunning but there are also other beautiful places to have your session all over the Richmond area! I still have a few session dates available, reserve your date today. Send me an email and let’s plan to document life together!
